OkCupid Mismatchmakers

In India, everyone from your family to your friends believe they know exactly who’s best for you. Unfortunately, their best picks aren’t the most compatible ones. 

 

For Valentine’s Day, we decided to battle these Mismatchmakers (people who are really good at making bad matches) with the one thing the internet can’t help but love – Memes.

 

Over 10 days, we flooded our Instagram feed with video memes about Mismatchmakers. We also created Instagram stickers that users could pin onto their own videos. Our memes didn’t just make India LOL but also showed viewers the true path to finding compatible partners – OkCupid.

In order for users to create their own customised MTVs, we created some Instagram stickers. On Instagram, these stickers were uploaded as gifs, and users could pin these gif stickers to their videos.

Patterns were used to create the end slates for the videos. These patterns were created based on the context of each video.
